Family Recovery

Looking for a recovery meeting you and your children can attend? Addiction and substance use disorders affect the entire family, not just the person who is struggling. Children who have a loved one struggling can have thoughts and emotions they may not understand or know how to communicate. Wildflowers is a family recovery program designed to create a supportive environment for children (4+ years old) while their parent or caregiver attend a recovery meeting, offering children a space to learn about and manage emotions related to the trauma of addiction. Through the use of the 7C’s framework by Jerry Moe, the National Director of the Hazelden Betty Ford Children’s Program, and the 12 Steps to Life Recovery, children will gain valuable coping skills, an age appropriate foundational understanding of addiction, and emotional resilience. Wildflowers seeks to mirror the adult meeting so the children can have a similar experience as their adult caregiver. Adults will also receive guidance, through a family recovery coaching session, on how to effectively talk to their children and fostering healthier family dynamics.
